Screen Time Agreement Generator
Create a clear family agreement in about two minutes. Set the limits and house rules together, then print it or save it as a PDF. Free, no account, nothing sent to a server.
How to use the agreement
- Fill it in together. Let the child choose some of the rules. A rule they helped write is easier to follow.
- Keep it short. One page is better than five. The agreement is a summary of the deal, not a legal contract.
- Make it visible. Print it and put it near the computer, or keep the PDF where both of you can open it.
- Set a review date. A month is a good start. At the review, change one or two rules instead of rewriting everything.
- Enforce the time limit if you want. The agreement is a family document. If you want the PC to enforce it, ScreenRhythm can do the daily limit, schedule and screen lock for free on Windows.
Questions
Is the generator really free?
Yes. It runs in your browser, needs no account and does not ask for an email. The answers stay on your device and are not sent to a server.
How do I save the result as a PDF?
Press Create agreement, then Print or save as PDF. In the print dialog, choose “Save as PDF” instead of a printer. The page is styled so that only the agreement is printed.
What should a screen time agreement include?
A daily limit for school days and weekends, the time of day when screens are allowed, bedtime, homework rules, what the child may do, what is off limits, what the parent promises, and when the agreement will be reviewed.
What if my child refuses to sign it?
Do not force it. Ask which rule they would change and start with one or two rules they agree with. An agreement that is partly theirs works better than a document they did not help write.
Is a screen time agreement legally binding?
No. It is a family document, not a legal contract. Its value is that the rules are written down and discussed together, so they are easier to remember and to change.
Want the PC to enforce the limit?
ScreenRhythm is a free Windows app: daily limit, schedule and screen lock. The child sees the countdown and can ask for more time.
